Development and implementation of novel imaging velocimetry techniques suited to large scale hydraulic facilities

Objective

Description:

Objectives:The project is aimed at improving both the quality and efficiency of the measurement capabilities for HYDRALAB partners and other large scale hydraulic facilities in Europe. The goal is to develop velocity measurement techniques using image correlation and particle-tracking methods adapted to large measurement domains. Two and three dimensional velocity measurement systems will be developed using laser scanning technology. The techniques developed will resolve multi scale turbulent flows, fostering synergy with numerical modelling. The application of these techniques to in-situ fine scale velocity measurements in a fjord will also be undertaken.
