Objective
This proposal is aimed at developing an Infrastructure co-operation network for users and providers of infrastructures in the area of Geoenvironmental Engineering. In particular the areas of landfills, underground waste disposal, contaminated land, future research needs and training requirements are focused upon. Regular six monthly meetings will be held, including open access conferences for the wider research community. Five study panels will be formed to consider the areas mentioned above. These panels will work towards increased co-ordination of research and the use and development of research infrastructures. The network will work towards i) good practice to be developed and spread within the research community ii) existing research infrastructures to be co-ordinated and developed and iii) the existing limited pool of trained professionals to be expanded.
