Access to submicron center for research on semiconductor materials, devices and structures

Objective

Description:

The Braun Center for Submicron Research is specializing in the study of mesoscopic physics in semiconductors. The SMC is well equipped for fabrication and measurements of complex mesoscopic structures in III-V semiconductors. Two extremely high purity (Riber) MBE systems, a professional (Jeol) electron beam writing system (for masks writing and multilevel direct write), two UHV plasma systems for etching and deposition, three UHV evaporators, an optical lithography laboratory, a high resolution (12 angstrom) SEM.

The measurement facilities include two dilution refrigerators, 6 - 17 T magnets, all the needed transport and optics measurement tools, high frequency capabilities, and a highly equipped optical characterization laboratory. The Weizmann Institute of Science is a small Gem in Israel. It is a graduate university with M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees given in Physics, Chemistry, Math, Computer Science, Material Science, and Biology. The campus is enclosed on the periphery of the city of Rehovot (some20 km from Tel-Aviv and 50 km from Jerusalem), with English being the main language (all seminars and courses are conducted in English). Housing is usually provided on or near campus. There is always a very large population of foreign visitors on campus.

After approved by the Users Selection Panel and the EC authorities, the applicant will by contacted to by the LSF in order to set the details for his visit (dates, accommodation).
