Atomic level studies of solids nucleation and the early stages of cristallization reactions

Objective

There will be several different aspects with respect to training. In addition to the basic training the scientists in the host institutions, there will be secondments of several weeks to other labs of the network in order to become familiar with the techniques available there, and -where suitable- Ph.D. work carried out in two different groups. Also several industrial laboratories have agreed to provide internships for the scientists of the network in order to allow training in an industrial environment. As important as these informal training components are formal short courses for the scientists in connection with the semiannual network meetings. The group organizing the meeting will provide four-day intensive courses on the special skills of this group. This seems especially important with respect to the participation of both experimentalists and theoriticians in the network. In addition to these scientific training modules, also a module on scientific presentation and a module on business skills including intellectual property will be given twice over the duration of the network. The relevant expertise is available in the network.
