Objective
The network participants will organize periodical events, such as schools and workshops, to present classical results and up-to-date contributions in the areas of non-linear adaptive control, with particular emphasis on constructive design methods. More precisely, tutorial schools on "Model Predictive Control", "Modeling and Control of Physical Systems" and "Adaptive Non-linear Control" and workshops on novel contributions will be organized. Experts in the various disciplines, both from the network participants and from other institutions, will be invited to contribute to the training programme of young researchers. The training activity will be co-ordinated with other existing networks and programmes to improve interdisciplinary communication and reduce the financial effort. The young researchers participating in the network activities will also have the opportunity to attend the courses of the Master of Science Programme in Control at Imperial College and of the Italian PHD Summer School. Despite the predominant theoretical flavor, the proposed programme is of fundamental methodological relevance to train new engineers.
