Adaptive optics for extremely large telescopes

Objective

The high level of multi-disciplinarity of our research project combined with the recent emergence of ELT projects offer a high creativity potential and therefore reinforces the training programme. A well-balanced internal-funded manpower ratio will guarantee a good follow-up of the Post/Pre-docs work. An important effort is devoted in our research program to ensure a wide diversity of scientific research methodologies and a good system overview of the final machine we are aiming to build. This research method and system overview will be a valuable experience for the Post-docs. In addition to regular progress meetings, seminars on specific topics and lunch talks, a Network workshop, an International Summer school and an International Symposium will be organized by the Network respectively at to+1, to+2 and to+4.Young researchers will fully benefit from existing collaborations with Institutes and industrial partners. They will be asked to develop these collaborations and to be pro-active in the expertise transfer between partners. Training will be a natural result of this process.
