Objective
To achieve a major advance in materials modeling it will be necessary to combine different modeling techniques. No single technique offers the combination of speed and accuracy required to model real materials. This network aims to train a group of young researchers in a variety of different simulation techniques and to reinforce the importance of interaction between theory and experiment. We hope to create a group of young researchers who have the skills necessary to carry out this critical step forward in materials modeling. The training objectives will be met by a combination of training within each participating institution for the researcher they employ along with extended visits of at least a month a year to other participating institutions in the network.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
