Objective
We attach great importance to the training aspect of the proposed Network. All seven teams have considerable experience in successfully training young postdoctoral researchers and graduate students, including many international researchers. The funded young researchers will be full participants in the research activity, and will receive training from the team leaders and other senior staff on research, communication and project management skills. They will participate directly in the programme of collaborative visits to other teams and the annual workshop that forms an essential part of the Network. We shall also organize schools for hands-on training of young researchers in computer simulation techniques from across the Network. We envisage that in most cases the young researchers will come from other NANOPHASE participant teams, and will be well prepared to disseminate new knowledge, techniques and approaches to their home team on their return, and to other teams during their participation in short-term staff exchanges.
