Training young researchers in miniaturized comprehensive liquid chromatography

Objective

The project will encourage young researchers to move from one location to another for obtaining increased fundamental insight in advanced new separation and detection methods. They will be trained on instrumentation not available in their home country, with the purpose of developing new skills, familiarize themselves with new instrumentation and practice in developing advanced technology into robust techniques for new applications. Training will contain introduction to modeling of separation and detection strategies, and developing the theoretical advantages of micro columns and new column materials into practical solutions. Features which will be dealt with are new selective materials, new sample focusing techniques, new columns for high speed separations, understanding and controlling the properties of electro driven or electro assisted separations, improving the robustness of miniaturized systems and applying different detectors for different uses. Highly specialized short courses, but with a wide range of applications, will be arranged at the premises of each group and at workshops.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)
