Objective
Because of its multidisciplinary character, this network offers a unique training possibility for enthusiastic young post-doctoral researchers. They will perform their research at least 2 different groups within the network. In one team they will contribute their knowledge to the network, in the second team they will learn new techniques that they can apply on the materials prepared during the first stay. This set up allows both efficient knowledge exchange and mobility of the young researchers, which in almost all cases results in the visit of 2 different European countries. The presence of DSM as a team member also opens up the possibility for post-doctoral researchers to obtain experience of research in an industrial environment. There will be a high demand for scientists that can communicate with more than one discipline, and that have an open mind to tackle scientific problems with tools that are even outside their own scientific fields.
