Catalysis by gold

Objective

The primary training is in the fields of homogeneous & heterogeneous catalysis, catalytic reaction engineering and catalysis by gold. In addition to specific specialist training, several courses will be given on advanced topics in the field: eg. density functional theory, TAP reactor methods, XPS,chemical vapor deposition, EXAFS, Surface Science exptl. modeling of catalysts, gold chemistry, zeolite & mesoporous solids as catalyst supports, advanced catalysis engineering and industrial issues such as patenting, IPR & project management. Four major chemical companies (Degussa, Johnson Matthey, ICI Synetix & Sad Chemie are members of this network and will contribute a valuable industrial perspective. Each young researcher will work for three short periods in industry. Training will also be given in project management, all aspects of scientific communication, IT, and the language and culture of the host country. The nature of the project will in addition foster team-working skills in a multidisciplinary network. The young post-docs will be given roles in the management of the themes and the network.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.
