Reactions with cobalamins and their mimics : mechanisms, synthetic applications and relevance to human health

Objectif

Young researchers will be trained at the interface of chemistry and biology. Their principal training will be in one of the 8 expert groups of the Network, but every young researcher will spend at least 10% of their time in another group, primarily to learn new experimental techniques. He/she will also attend every 6 monthly Network review meeting and present on his/her research. Every young researcher will attend at least one specialized course per annum. The topics that will be covered in courses of 1 -3 days duration are presentational skills and report writing, intellectual property and patents, combinatorial and solid phase synthesis, nuclear magnetic and electron paramagnetic resonance, mass spectrometric techniques, protein crystallography, molecular toxicology, enzymology, molecular biology. An annual one-week Winter School will be held on the subject of chemical biology, when the young co-workers will meet experts from academic and industrial organizations outside the Network.
