Synclinic and anticlinic mesophases for photonic applications

Objective

This multi-disciplinary programme provides a unique training environment for young researchers, who will experience a variety of research topics and methods of scientific study. A strongly intercalated and truly integrated programme will give the researchers an opportunity to learn from experts in a number of disciplines and to gain crucial experience to solve complex problems. It is expected that this programme will establish an excellent basis for establishing a mechanism for interdisciplinary cross-fertilization, with the intention of training researchers in the mode of a laboratories without walls. Training will be hands-on, through network-wide workshops and be carried out in the context of the project objectives. In practice, each team will nominate a mentor and a scientific advisor for each researcher. The researchers will be encouraged to spend at least 2 months of a 12 months period in a complimentary team. It is recognized that training, will be most effective, when the needs are targeted at the individual training requirements of the researchers and the particular individual tasks involved. Thus a personalized approach to training will be taken.
