Biotreatment of alternating recalcitrant pollutants in wastewaters

Objective

This programme addresses the European problems of hazardous wastes and European policies on integrated pollution control. The development of sophisticated biotreatment systems aimed at specific target waste streams is an important area of activity for SMEs, which will be likely be founded as a spin-off if the project is successful. Such SMEs will generate more employment as the enhanced biotreatment technologies move through pilot scale and eventually to process scale. During the project young researchers will be working at all the partner sites, exploiting the multidisciplinary R&D environment and complementary expertise offered by the partner institutes. This will create an impact in the form of highly trained scientists and engineers. A key feature of our trained scientist will be their ability to work in a cross-disciplinary environment. Enhancement of communication and management skills is planned; all "young researchers" on the project will attend a training programme on management and career development.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: https://op.europa.eu/en/web/eu-vocabularies/euroscivoc.
