Objective
The objectives are to
(a) educate young scientists in a broad range of atmospheric disciplines,
(b) teach young scientists a range of scientific methods,
(c) teach young scientists to collaborate across discipline boundanes,
(d) develop entrepreneurial skills in young scientists,
(e) teach young scientists to co-ordinate and implement larger collaborations, and
(f) teach young scientists to communicate scientific result to the public.
To address the questions studied with the network, scientists from a variety of fields within atmospheric sciences must work together. Specific fields include the physics of plasmas, discharges, atmospheric chemistry, electromagnetism, clouds, fluid dynamics, statistics, geophysics, and space physics. The techniques include observations and instrumentation, and PIC and GCM simulations. The network activities include an observational programme that will bring together a variety of instrumental techniques to be applied to the research topic of the network. Co-ordinated ground and space observational campaigns will have participation of the young scientists.

Topic(s)
Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
