Objective
The proposed network on the Economics of Ageing in Europe will promote training of young researchers in one of the most crucial areas of policy intervention of the coming decades. The overall objective of the training program is to produce top-quality researchers able to evaluate the effect of social programs (social security, health care, tax incentives) on individual behavior. Training of young post-doctoral researchers will take place involving them in the research project of the various teams, through participation of the network conferences and workshops, and through exposure to seminar presentation. To enhance collaboration, fellows will have access to all data and facilities at the various institutions involved in the project. Particular care will be taken to provide broader training also with respect to communication and project management. The affiliated nodes will provide opportunities to interact with economists at the Bank of Italy, Bank of Spain and Rand. In addition to these specific activities, the institutions involved offer several opportunities for young researchers (doctoral programs, seminar series, summer schools).
