Calmodulin regulated protein kinases: molecular and cellular functions of five prototypic members from the human genome by a multidisciplinary approach

Objective

The vastly growing number of sequence data provides novel opportunities to investigate the molecular basis of living organisms and their associated pathological diseases. Our proposal will integrate research methods from classical life sciences, chemistry, informatics and genomics / proteomics technologies for the molecular and cellular analysis of a subfamily of protein kinases, which is regulated by calcium / calmodulin. We will offer advanced scientific training for young researches across traditional research disciplines within the transnational European context. Our proposed training program will be enhanced by courses and workshops that will focus on the scientific fields of our research objectives, on the research methods applied, and on research career opportunities. This training will be beneficial to the scientific community, which is short on researchers with a multidisciplinary expertise and on experienced experts, particularly in structural biology and bioinformatics.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.
