Objective
This network will train young gifted scientists in the multidimensional facets of the interface between environment/nutrition and nuclear receptor-regulated gene programs that will provide to them the intellectual and technical basis to build up a team of their own by selecting one of the multiple research challenges that will be commonly developed in this network. The present network comprises a mix of high quality "core" teams implanted in centres of excellence that provide in a complementary fashion access to the most recent and costly technologies and young groups that have the possibility to expand their technical repertoire through cooperation within the network. In view of the socio-economic relevance of a merge between environmental/nutritional fields and that of nuclear receptor signalling, and in view of the strong competition, particular with US groups, it is of utmost importance that existing European excellence is maintained and further enforced. A most promising way towards this goal is to provide to young scientists top quality research facilities and convey to them the necessary know-how and enthusiasm by training in a high quality research network.
