Ab-initio computation of electronic properties of f-electron materials

Objective

The proposed Network will contribute in excess of 220 person-months of training of young researchers financed by the Network contract. At the first stage, only employment of young researchers at the post-doc level is envisaged. The Network provides an organized train-ing programme to give the young researchers comprehensive skills in the methodology of computational modeling of materials. All Network partners will play an active roll in the training. The following training actions will be invoked: Training by research through the day-to-day supervision of the young researcher within an internationally oriented research environment. 3 tutorial and 5 annual workshops will be organized, which will include scientific contributions from Network post-docs. The secondment program will for each of the young researchers consist of at least two visits to other network partners with complementary skills. Training in scientific communication will be provided through the young researcher giving talks at Conferences and Network meetings, writing technical papers for the scientific literature and writing a more general 'highlight' article, for a wider scientific audience.
