Organised molecular films and their use for organic field-effect transistors and related opto-electronic devices

Objective

Young researchers and staff will be trained at the laboratories of the Network in state-of-the-art techniques for thin layer organic film deposition and characterization. The exchange of personnel between the groups will ensure that their strong collective experience is disseminated more widely in Europe and will provide trained personnel for European industry in this new and promising technology area. Synthesis, processing, ultra-high vacuum deposition techniques, characterization methods e.g. scanning probe microscopy, synchrotron based techniques like ultraviolet photo-electron spectroscopy (UPS), XPS, NEXAFS, device fabrication and testing, steady-state and time-resolved optical characterization and modeling are all areas of Network expertise in which training will occur. Industrial perspectives will be provided both directly through the participation of Philips Research Laboratories in the Network and also through interaction with the other companies with who network partners have Contact. Additional mechanisms for training will involve short courses, summer schools tutorial days, workshops and a steady personnel exchange between the groups.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: https://op.europa.eu/en/web/eu-vocabularies/euroscivoc.
