Radioactivity-a facet of nature: an exhibition in order to encourage public awareness in nuclear sciences during the european science and technology week.

Objective

The European network "Public awareness in nuclear sciences" is mainly concerned with the image the general public has of nuclear sciences. A working group of the network has focused on the preparation of an exhibition in the context of the European Scientific and Technological Week. The main purpose of this exhibition is to show that radioactivity is a natural phenomenon that has many implications in everyday life. It should be presented simultaneously in three European cities, one in France, one in Germany and one in Italy. The selection of these cities will take into account the global program of the European Science and Technology Week in 2000. The project involves the presentation of posters, objects and interactive experiments as well as the assistance of young scientists.
