Objective
Bionet is a digital exhibition on Life Sciences, consisting of Internet based electronic exhibits and presentations, and a series of forums for informed discussions and debates. The electronic exhibits, including simulations and experiments, will provide the basic understanding on topics such as genetics, biotechnologies and ethics. They will be freely available on the Internet. The Forum will be open to all European citizens and to key stakeholders in Life Science research, and will be available in national languages. Supported by live events and activities taking place in the European Science museums, Bionet will provide an arena where an objective discussion can take place and citizens can enter in direct dialogue with researchers and policy makers. The consortium will provide the research, design and development of the network, and the editorial and translation work. An independent international committee will overview the project.
