Objective
The project i-WEAR will design and implement a prêt-à-porter show in four European cities to present the state-of-the-art and future developments of "intelligent clothes"(IC). IC means the integration of new technologies and materials in textiles. In future, clothes will be used as transmitters of chemical information, will carry scents or unguents or transform information into electronic signals. This development will have a sustainable impact on the clothing industry and on everyday life. The project i- WEAR aims at informing a broad public and the media about chances and challenges through IC. The project will consist of a road show through leading department stores. Particular emphasis will be laid on products with regard to "security" and "health". The show will be accompanied by a video, explaining the technical details. A moderator will lead through the show and will answer on questions from the public.
