European science communication events extension creation of a euroean science communication events network with database, analysis & improvement recommendations & for existing and new organisations

Objectif

Science Communication Events (SCE) are special and very efficient means to bridge the gap between science in its European dimension and the general public. 38 organizations of 23 European countries formed EUSCEA - European Science Events Association - in December 2001. They detected the urgent need to harmonize SCE organizations in all of Europe for efficient, professional and scientifically based enhancement of their activities.
The structured approach to achieve this goal consists of
(1) the creation of a general database of all SCE activities available to the public in print and in the Internet, further
(2) a structured analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of all SCE organizations resulting in a tool-box with general and individual recommendations, which
(3) are implemented under close supervision for the future development of the European Science Communication Events. A further result is
(4) the professional assistance for new SCE organizations in other regions or (associated) countries.
