Employment and women's studies: the impact of women's studies training on women's employment in europe

Objectif

The Amsterdam Treaty identified a gap in the employment rates of women and men in Europe, resulting in the greater economic and social exclusion of women. This project addresses this gap by researching the impact of Women's Studies training on women's employment in Europe. In the last 15 years at least 100,000 women in Europe have undergone such training (SIGMA Report 1996). It is anecdotally known that their training had a significant impact on their employability, adaptability, entrepreneurship, and the promotion of equal opportunities. For this project an all-female research team from 9 European countries will for the first time systematically collect quantitative and qualitative scientific data on these impacts to understand the impact of that training on their employment.
