Evaluation of migration and ethnicity related projects in the 4th and 5th framework programme

Objective

The main goal of the project is the analysis of European migration and ethnicity research as far as this research has been funded by the (today) Directorate-General Research in the Fourth and Fifth Framework Programmes. To implement a strategy for a European Research Area and to strengthen the coherence of research activities and policies conducted in Europe it will be necessary to resume European research done until now. The success of projects in terms of contributing to scientific debates and European added value shall be evaluated. This will be done with regard to each project as such and in comparative perspectives in cooperation with the Directorate-General Research, projects will be identified (there might be a number of between fifty till sixty projects involved). Furthermore, project designs, their dissemination strategies into European and international scientific arenas will be evaluated. Special emphasis will be given to questions, how far the analyzed projects have contributed to the formulation of European policies in the areas of immigration, asylum, minority protection and anti-discrimination policies.
