Objective
The proposed pilot study will collect essential information on various sorts of regularly produced datasets usable for studies on the integration of immigrants and their descendants in 8 European countries. It will contribute to establishing comparability of these data, which to date is very limited, and thereby make a valuable contribution to preparing the knowledge base necessary for designing policies of "integration into our societies of those third country nationals who are lawfully resident in the Union" (Tampere Summit Conclusions). A network of experts will collect the information on the basis of a checklist drafted by the project co-ordinators. The results will be a database of meta-information about relevant datasets and a comparative inventory of problems of monitoring of immigrants' integration.
