Objective
SEMMERING proposes a series of three conferences (Semmering Science and Technology Fora) and three Steering Committee meetings, which are to analyze national and European S&T policies in the context of internationalization. These meetings are designed to create the forum for better understanding and co-operation between the S&T communities within Europe. They will provide an arena in which policy-makers and civil servants on one side and experts and researchers on the other will discuss problems and issues surrounding the international co-operation in the field of science and technology, with special emphasis on trans-national aspects of the policies, evaluation culture and quality control and the issues of collaboration and networking in S&T. Through this dialogue, strategies will be devised for further co-operation and development of S&T policies in an enlarged Europe.
