A theoretical framework to analyse the nature of financing employment and social protection in europe

Objective

Starting from existing material gathered by the network "The social construction of employment ", this proposal, included mainly in measures 1 and 4 of accompanying measures program, aims to complete an overall theoretical framework that analyses shifts in the nature of financing employment and social protection and their consequences in seven European countries taking in account the European dimension into the analysis, as a factor influencing national realities. These overall objectives will be realized through the publication of a book; collectively produced between September 2001 and April 2002, with the help of two meetings. It is expected to provide alternatives for the European research field on employment and social protection, and for the European and national policy actors.
