Objective
The MADIERA project is addressing the part II of the IHP-KA1 by implementing an extensible and distributed multi-lingual web-based infrastructure for the European social science research community. It will benefit
1) data archives and other information providers by delivering content publishing and management tools and creating exemplars;
2) researchers, who will then be able use the tools to locate and browse distributed resources and then link their output dynamically to underlying data and other resources in focused information environments; and
3) users of academic research who will be able to access, explore, challenge and interact with high quality research output.
The project will deliver these benefits by exploiting advanced software to publish heterogeneous data sources interactively and integrate them with other resources and knowledge products through a Web-based infrastructure populated with a variety of data and knowledge products from a wide selection of European providers.
