Socio-economic evaluation of public rtd policies

Objective

Recognising the significant role of RTD In productivity and economic growth, a whole range of various policies. Various policies exist to support RTD at European, national, and regional and local level. Nevertheless, the increasing complexity of the process of technological change, together with an effort of rationalisation in expenditures highlight the relevance of developing schemes to evaluate the impact of RTD Policies. This network will contribute to the better understanding of the dynamics of science and by investigating the socio-economic impact of the Forth RTD-Framework Programme. The network aims at providing guidance and support to the development of a quantitative model, possibly econometric, to assess policies at a national and supranational EU level. A basic objective is to develop a valid analytical framework in which to analyse and understand the linkages and the causal relationships existing among the multiplicity of variables involved in RTD policy evaluation.
