Objective
We are moving fast o a knowledge-based economy. But our analytical tools are no longer useful for decision-making. This leads to an inefficient allocation of resources, increases the uncertainty, thus preventing the efficient functioning of S&T policy. In this general context, the main objective of the Network is to create a European Research & Communication Arena on Intangibles, bringing together excellence centres on intangibles from different European Countries and countries from the rest of the world, to analyse knowledge production, acquisition and diffusion by companies and its implications for Science, Technology and Innovation Policy.
This objective will be reached through four activities:
Activity 1. Mapping Centres of Excellence,
Activity 2. Intellectual capital statement in firms,
Activity 3. Policy implications. New Research Agenda and
Activity 4. Policy implications. Future training needs. As a result of the project a virtual network of all the excellence centres in knowledge management world- wide will emerge, a refined theory of intangibles will be produced, which will serve as an starting point for the discussion of a new European research and training agenda, that will have the consensus of a wide range of agents.
