Objective
To prove the higher efficiency of the Klappenlaufrad Turbine compared to a traditional water turbine due to:
- the increase of the annual power output at differing water supply by means of a high real efficiency rate of 86% - 75% at variable flows of 100% - 10%.
- cost efficient installation when replacing an immobilized Francis-Turbine.
- possibility to increase the capacity of the turbine in a new installation, as the Klappenlaufrad-Turbine still works at a real efficiency rate of 75% with an inlet pressure of only 10% and thus achieves a greater annual output.
1- Innovative technology
- The "Klappenlaufrad-Turbine", a high pressure turbine with a fixed distributor but adjustable wheel valves
2- Context
- The "Klappenlaufrad-Turbine" is fixed onto the turbine chamber ceiling of an immobilized Francis-Turbine.
3- Economic aspects
- No rebuilding is necessary as the turbine is linked by a draught tube inset to the draught tube ring of the immobilized Francis-Turbine
Net head 2,45 m
Flow 0,25 - 2,5 m3/s
Output power 51,5 kW
Turbine speed 58 Run/min.
