Electron beam for processing of flue gases, emitted in metallurgical processes, for volatile organic compounds removal.

Objective

Volatile organic compound belong to the most hazardous pollutants. The processes used in metallurgical industry, are substantial source of them. The presents of VOC enhance cancer sick rate, especially in the regions of Chernobyl catastrophe. The project is aimed on the reduce of this emission by means of project objectives: to recognize Vacs emotively in the selected metallurgical Ukrainian plants and to elaborate appropriate technology of Vacs removal using the electron beam irradiation. The objectives will be achieved by: determination of Vacs emission from selected ferrous metallurgy plants, theoretical and experimental investigation foods removal in laboratory scale and pilot plant as well, elaboration of technological procedure scheme and reversibility study of industrial installation. Expected result: Effective and economic technology of removal of toxic organic compounds emitted in metal sector.
