Objective
Design of novel low cost SnO2- and ln2O3-based sensors for monitoring of CO in combustion emissions is the purpose of this project. The main specific objectives are: -experimental and theoretical investigations of Sn02 and In203 surface parameters, important for high effective sensor creation: -design of innovating sensor technologies, to improve the operating characteristics of CO gas sensors (GS) and reduce their costs. Theoretical model of metal oxides (Sn02 and In203) real surfaces phenomenological model of GS will be developed. The engineering solutions and modes of a deposition permitting to form nano-crystallites (8-25 nm) of gas sensitive Sn02- and In203-based thin (10-200 nm) films with controlled structure and chemical composition will be found using spray pyrolysis technology. A novel designs of the gas sensors able to monitor in site combustion products with temperature of detected gas 300 C and reduced concentration of the oxygen (5-10%) will be developed.
