Financing health care in nis and ceec' s not in the pre-accession phase

Objective

In the past the countries of Cheek's and NIS all experienced major economic shocks. The health care sector also suffered from earlier policies. The official ministerial declarations on health reform contain goals such as improving the population's health, improving the system' s efficiency, cost containment, better use of resources, increased quality of services, access and equity. The capacity for health reforms is weak and due to the leadership instability, the change process is often poorly managed. The project will establish a network of centres of expertise across the region by integrating scientists from NIS and Cheek's not in the pre-Accessing Phase in the network of European centres in the area of health systems research. The project will provide systematically prepared information about financing of health care systems, a comparison and benchmarking of the actual health financing systems in the countries concerned.
