Development of the equipment and technologies of radiomagnetotellurics for rapid pollution mapping and monitoring using foot-, car- and boat-borne survey

Objective

The objective of the project is the development of the equipment and technologies of radiomagnetotellurics (RMT) for pollution mapping in water and soil and rapid environmental monitoring in industrial regions. Instruments for the measurement of the fields generated by radio transmitters in the frequency range of 10 to 1000 kHz for foot surveillance (conventional RMT survey) and in the frequency range of 10 to 300 kHz for car- and boat-borne ones will be designed and constructed. Field techniques of foot-, car- and boat-borne measurements will be developed, as well as the processing and interpretation software. The technologies for mapping and rapid environmental control of the pollution of rivers, lakes and near-coast sea waters by various kind of wastes will be developed; likewise waste-sites exploration, localization of waste disposals and hydrocarbons floods and monitoring their flow in soils, dam leakage and fracture zone mapping.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
