Conference on laser applications in life sciences, industry, environment and everyday life in novosibirsk, russia, september 9-13, 2002

Objective

The aim is to improve cooperation between the NIS and Europe in the field of laser and optics. Although the NIS have recognized excellency they have few contacts to industry and little knowledge of market requirements. Simultaneously, European protagonists are not well informed about the technology field in Russia. The idea is to exchange scientific knowledge in a two-way-process in order to build up networks and joint activities that may become important within the programmes of the European Union and bring fresh impulses to experts of both regions. Organising the Conference in Siberia gives Russian scientists, especially young scientists, the opportunity to get in touch with leading European experts and show their achievements while European experts can get an impression of the laser research in Russia on the spot.
