Promotion of local competitiveness and development of local capabilities in the mediterranean region.

Objective

The objective is to promote Mediterranean competitiveness and develop regional capabilities of the stakeholders in the Jewellery Producing community in the involved countries; to design, and develop new products and new marketing initiatives to bridge the gaps between the Mediterranean Partner Countries (MPC)and Europe. To start with, communities in Malta, Egypt, Jordan and Palestine will be considered. The results will be disseminated on a regional level within the Mac's as well as within European Countries. The project will assess the jewellery production in the region in order to mobilise communities around the development of their local capabilities. This will assist them in reaching higher quality levels adapted to the new market rules and prepare these SME's for the integration within the free trade zone that will be established by the year 2010.
