A network for euro-mediterranean language resource and human language technology development and support

Objective

The NEMLAR project will build a network of European and Mediterranean partners to survey , evaluate, exchange best practice about, and stimulate the appropriate development of language resources in Arabic and other indigenous languages in the Mediterranean partnership region to ensure interoperability between European and Mediterranean languages for emerging intonation society and human language technologies. Through Belmar's networking activities, awareness will be raised in the Community and Mediterranean industrial community about the state of the art in language resource and technology development, and pilot projects in resource development will be launched to point the way for further scientific and industrial partnership in regional language development to ensure the sustainability of the region's linguistic diversity on the global net networks.
