Internet based information system for the european initiative for agricultural research for development- eiard-infosys phase ii (www.dainet.de/eiard/infosys)

Objective

In the frame of EIARD, a decentralised, multi-entry, Web-based regional information system will be further developed (phase II), providing road maps to scattered EU-ARD information through a single-search interface. The system facilitates communication, sharing of experiences, and access to EU-ARD information, supports transparency of resources and institutional and human capacities and assists in dissemination of ARD results to scientists, decision makers and other stakeholders. InfoSys builds on three functions: The sign-posting service as technical backbone supports compilation of ARD sources (URLs) in a consistent navigation system. The editorial service acts as broker of information and through its gap and trend analyses thus delivering basic contributions to research co-ordination. The gateway service facilitates emergence of DCs regional information systems. InfoSys builds on contributions of a national nodes networks of EIARD Members;
