Objectif This proposal involves the preparation and execution of a two-day international workshop on methodological issues concerning interdisciplinary research on development and the environment, with the participation of 24 European and Developing Country researchers (10 DC, 12 MS, 2 AS-Norway) with solid experience in conducting interdisciplinary research in this field. The workshop will be held near Oslo, Norway, in April/May 2000. Participants will be invited on the basis of personal professional experience, with a balanced representation from economics, sociology/anthropology, and the natural sciences. The workshop will concentrate on the following topics: Planning and undertaking inter-disciplinary research; Assessing interdisciplinary research; Connecting research and policy. The project will be coordinated/executed by the Centre for Development and the Environment (SUM), University of Oslo.
