Objective
IPMEurope has promoted EU pest management research in international forum since1992. First Consultations funded by CTA; success as an Accompanying Measure underFP3 led to phase II under FP4. 4 further years proposed under FP5 INCO-DC Committee nominates institutions as national nodes. Activities funded jointly by DGXII and Member States (MSs). Initial focus on research collaboration through information exchange. Now broadened to cover research uptake and policy dialogue with other IPM stakeholders in sustainable development (SD), including NGOs, CGIAR, private sector, DGVIII and DGI. IPMEurope is a sectoral network of the EU Forum. The proposal covers further policy & technical consultation between EU scientists and partners; increased research collaboration; strengthened web-based information flow; finalisation of EU guidelines and IPM standards; project & programme cycle support for sustainable pest management.
