Bamboo thematic network

Objective

BTN is a knowledge infrastructure that fosters bilateral co-operation between Europe and Developing Countries in order to valorise international scientific research on bamboo. 16 participants representing research and industry from thee and DC, including the International Network for Bamboo and Rattan INBAR)direct their efforts towards defining strategies for the commercial and industrial validation of research on bamboo as a timber substitute and renewable source of bio energy. BTN will enhance cooperation among EU and DC researchers and industries through a clear focus on technological advances in fundamental and applied research on bamboo. The goal is to make the most of research on bamboo and to optimise the added value of bamboo through an EU/DC exchange of knowledge and scientific networking.
