Safe and high quality food supply chains and networks - establishing an international research knowledge network on cross-border food supply chains and networks

Objective

The aim of the concerted action is: - to build a sustainable international platform for the exchange and development of knowledge on cross-border supply chains and networks for safe and high quality food. The platform will consist of national networks of public and private organisations (universities and research institutes, governmental and business organisations) from emerging economies (LAM countries )developing economies (ACP countries) and developed economies (EU countries). - to enable the consortium to develop internationally attuned research agenda's to support research and development of balanced and sustainable food supply chains and networks between EU countries and LAM and ACP countries. It is a three year project in which national, regional and international workshops are major milestones to achieve goals. Besides the knowledge exchange network and the research agenda's the concerted action will deliver a sustainable and extendable communication structure and web site. Coordination takes place by the project co-ordinator in collaboration wig region co-ordinators (for EU, ACP and LAM countries).
