Sustainable users concepts for china engaging scientific scenarios

Objective

Sustainable development of urban and rural settlements in five Chinese provinces is the target of this project. We will evaluate the possibilities of proceeding from an actual level of pre-industrialisation or proto-sustainability into a solar age with the significant raising of the standard of living in these settlements where a rather poor quality of life prevails. We will develop pilot projects in five case studies, combining two streams of research:
Bottom-up approach for sustainability processes in these settlements, research-process with a pool of experts in four modules: Ecology, economy, socio-culture and built environment. The project is highly interdisciplinary and intercultural. We will develop three scenarios for each case study: business as usual, industrialisation and sustainable development.
A sino-European thesaurus of sustainability: It will establish key words of sustainability with their cultural implications.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.
