Regional aspects of the sustainable management of wetland resources

Objective

The accompanying measure is directed at increasing the regional dissemination and application of the tools developed in a precedent INCO project (IC18 CT98 0262). The measure is specifically designed to involve the decision makers and scientists who will use the instruments focusing on the management of wetland resources in a wider regional approach. The participation of all levels of actors, research institutions and government bodies will guarantee a high profile of the measure results and a good dissemination of the activities. By creating a regional dialogue, wetland management will be improved over a larger area, increasing the value of the results from the original INCO project. The measure also involves a feasibility study to determine where further research should be dedicated as well as the actual application of instruments from the original INCO project
