To define the general objectives of the Network we propose to organize a workshop in May/June 2002. During the workshop the structure of the Network will be defined, as well as tropic-specific working groups and an executive committee created and their goals defined. To do so, during the workshop a series of lectures on relevant arguments will be provide, as well as large opportunities for discussion with invited scientific and health care experts. Thereafter, in the frame of an 24 months period, meetings of the topic-specific working groups and the executive committee should follow their achievements. Finally, to assess the activities of the Network a second workshop should take place. A written document will be produced to describe the network, its organization, structure, objectives, missions, and achievements.
