Objective ProNet will specify a multimedia business network information system involving a two-way telematics link between the producer and all participants in the electronics industry value creation chain through to end-users, recyclers and waste disposal firms. The system will employ positive product identification to deliver information geared to their individual needs. Special retrieval environments will be developed to cater for the variety of participants and to link physical objects closely with electronic data. The project will report on the all-round viability of its underlying concept and prepare for its possible full pilot implementation.
