Objective The overall purpose of IDEA is to boost the productivity of information providers through a generic telematics platform-independent solution for help with authoring, accessing and distribution of information. The project will adopt structured documents at each information processing stage, with bilingual documents used as the basis of a multilingual system, while information access and retrieval will rely on intelligent querying techniques and logical and semantic structures. IDEA may also develop methods to capture the implicit structure of existing printed or electronic documents and images, facilitating their integration in a local user environment.
